Shechina Dance Party Will Be Rescheduled

Spark your senses and ignite your passion! Shechina Dance Party Mindfulness, Meditation, and Movement with Marianne Altschul and D.J. Wendy.  Special guest appearance from Devi Manet, Sound Artist who will guide us in an authentic cacao ceremony.  Wear white comfortable clothing for movement, and bring a yoga mat and comfortable blanket, as well as an open heart and open mind.  $36/ pp or become a sponsor at $100.00+.  Parking is limited.  Please carpool if possible.

 

What is Shechina Dance?

“Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing.” Exodus 15:21

Shechina Dance is based on the 8-phases of Shakti Dance as created by Sara Avtar with her blessing.  

Shechina Dance utilities the powerful technology and structure of Shakti Dance, however, the Sanskrit and Gurmukhi chants are replaced by sacred Hebrew chants, prayers and songs.  Hebrew is a sacred, coded and multi-faceted language that has a powerful effect on the mind-body-soul system.  The ancient language of the Torah/Old Testament holds within it a transformative and alchemical effect.

Women of any/all faith systems and beliefs are welcome and will be embraced in community. 

Here is the structure of the Shechina Dance class:   

1. Tune In- Using a Sacred Hebrew prayer 

2. Shechina flowing floor stretches

3. Standing Movement 

4. Free dance 

5. Relaxation

6. Group meditation using a Hebrew Chant

7. Silent meditation 

8. Closing/Sealing- Using a Sacred Hebrew Mantra 

Note: Throughout history women have danced in community to express gratitude, pray and connect to Source/Universal Energy/Life Force/G-d/ Love. 

Definition: 

Shechina is the Divine Feminine or the feminine face of God as it was conceived in the mystical tradition of Judaism.  Shechina שכינה (also spelled Shechinah) is derived from the word shochen שכן, “to dwell within.” It becomes a direct path of communion between the individual and the Divine.
